Folio Competition

is held once a year. There are three categories: Seniors, Weddings and Families/Children. Members may enter two commercially available and unaltered folios with a maximum size of 12"x 24" over all and eight openings of 4"X 5" with the following criteria.

Folios are judged on impact, creativity, variety, salability, expression, posing, composition, color balance and uniformity, print quality, the "appropriateness" of the images as a senior portrait (such as inappropriate sexual content, violence, demonic overtones, etc.), and folio presentation design.

Print Competition

is held once a year. Each member may enter up to 4 Photographs OR 3 Photographs and 1 Event Album. The images may be in any combination of classes: Wedding, Portrait or Open. The photographs must be mounted and unframed on a 16x20 with a minimum image area is 80 square inches.

Prints are judged on the 12 Elements of a Merit Print. 1 Impact, 2 Creativity, 3 Style, 4. Composition, 5 Print Presentation, 6 Color Balance, 7 Strong Center of Interest, 8 Lighting, 9 Subject Matter, 10 Print Quality, 11 Technique, and 12 Storytelling. Starting in 2005 you can view the prints from the competiton.

Member Challenge 2010

 We are off and running with the 2010 Member Challenge!  Each month there is a now "challenge" to help stimulate member creativity. To participate, just submit an image at least 15 minutes before the meeting. We ask that you format it to a size no larger than 2000 pixels on the long side, and no smaller than 1200 pixels on the long side. Please name the file as "challengetitle_firstname_lastname.jpg" so we know which competition and the maker's name.  You may submit them electronically to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.  The 2010 Challenges are:
