Achieving Success in a Competitive World
What are the most dreadful, most depressing seven words a photographer can hear? "We decided to go with someone else." So, how much should you really worry about your competition? In this seminar, Laura will be discussing the application of business techniques such as benchmarking, making strategic marketing decisions, creating a competitive advantage, and increasing your perceived value. She will also be touching upon the art of ethical competition (hint: it's NOT calling up other studios and pretending
your a bride), the myths & realities of booking jobs, and other factors that might be a sign you need to start shakin' things up in your studio. |
Laura's Bio: They say a picture speaks a thousand words and the heirlooms created by Laura Novak tell stories that are sure to be shared by families for generations to come. A creative and artistic professional who nearly missed her calling until serving as a friend¹s unofficial wedding photographer, Laura is nationally celebrated for her work and is renowned for eye-catching
pieces that capture the emotion and movement and energy and purpose that is so representative of who her subjects are. Along with gracing the mantles of families nationwide, Laura¹s photos can be found on the pages of many publications including The New York Times, USA Today, People, The Knot, Modern Bride, My Day Magazine, Philadelphia Elegant Bride, Professional
Photographer Magazine and the Wedding Photographer¹s Handbook. In 2007, Laura was named one of two photographers nation-wide as Kodak¹s Photographers, recognizing her ability to capture spontaneous, intimate and emotional moments like few others in her field. |
Laura¹s artistic vision recently took a leap forward with the opening of a dynamic new studio where she creates many of her artistic heirlooms in-house with a team dedicated to capturing every couple and family¹s most authentic moments for posterity. An active member of her community Laura donates her services to various charitable organizations from Operation Smile to Girls Take Charge. According to Laura, ³when people are photographed the human condition exists in there and I work to capture that movement and energy and purpose that is representative of who they are. |
